Introduction of CSM website

We are happy to announce our new Chateau Sur Mer website in 2016. This website is intended to be a fun, interactive, social site, where neighbors can post pictures, view neighborhood homes for rent or sale, sell unwanted items, recommend favorite service providers or simply find out what's happening in the neighborhood. Soon you may be able to PAY YOUR DUES ONLINE!

This site will also function as a means of communication between the Board and all CSM residents. Board Meeting dates and minutes will be posted here, as well as planned information sessions on all current topics involving the community. Covenants, Renters Guide and a Directory will also be included for your convenience.

Debbie Misher will be the webmaster. This site is intended for CSM residents only and a password will be required to login to pages containing personal information.

We hope that you will use this site in the spirit it was intended, and remember it is a work in progress. All ideas to improve communication and general well-being among neighbors are always welcome!

November 3, 2016

Dear Neighbors,

We hope that you had an enjoyable summer and look forward to seeing everyone back in Chateaux Sur Mer soon.  The Road Study Group has been working since the spring with Jim Strothers (and through his partnership with Sanibel Surveys) to evaluate the two options communicated to the community by the Board in the May 7, 2016 President's Letter:  (1) improve the existing dirt/pit shell road or (2) asphalt paving.

To this end, Jim and Sanibel Surveys have been doing a lot of work over the summer to be in a position to provide design details to allow the Road Study Group to start receiving cost information.  If you recall, the study was to (1) Establish baseline and obtain location and elevations of existing road conditions; (2) Obtain elevations and locations of features adjacent to the road within right-of-way; (3) Review area for possible drainage problems and recommend necessary improvements; and (4) Prepare preliminary layout plans and recommendations for roadway and drainage improvements for review by the Road Study Group.

While we are about a month behind our original time frame, we do hope to receive Jim's recommendations and also to obtain cost estimates by the end of December which will complete this phase of the approved study.  The Road Study Group will then be compiling this information into an informational packet to present to our community residents.  We anticipate having a couple of informational meetings to review the packet, answer any questions residents may have, and to gauge the appropriate next steps.  We believe these meetings will likely happen in the beginning months of 2017.  The goal of the informational communication will be to provide an objective discussion of the road matters facing the Chateaux Sur Mer Improvement Association.  Our goal is that all members will feel well informed of the past and current situation as it impacts the Road Study Group’s efforts.

If you should have any questions before you receive the information packet later this calendar year or early next year, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Road Study Group by contacting Renny Challoner via email:  renny@thechalloners.com.

While the Board expects to pursue the legal concerns related to CSM roadways raised by certain members before any action is taken, that matter is outside the purview of the Road Study Group.

Respectfully,

Road Study Group
